Antique Sumida Gawa Style Porcelain Bowl/Unique Japanese Karaoke Bowl/ Handpainted Cobolt Blue and White buy figurines

Heavy antique Sumida Gowa style bowl with karaoko. The japanese bowl is boat shaped with two karako sitting on each side of the bowl. Inside of the bowl there is a beautiful blue and white glazed pattern as if illustrating the ocean. Since the two sides are open one use for the porcelain bowl could be as a rice bowl. The age of the piece an educated guess.

Karako is a Japanese term used in art when depicting Chinese children playing.

CONDITION:
In excellent vintage condition. There is an air bubble under the glaze in one spot. No chips, cracks or scratches.
