Vintage 50’s buy ELINOR PORTER Gold Dress, Lamé Striped, Shirtwaist Dress, Button-Up, Matching Belt, 3/4 Sleeves, Mad Men, Holiday, Size S/M
This amazing 1950's shirtwaist dress was designed by ELINOR PORTER. The fabric catches the light and is a textured gold striped pattern with metallic gold Lamé or Laurex threads woven throughout. The bodice has a ‘Bateau' style neckline showing off the collar bone and is bias cut with horizontal stripes. The dress has ‘Dolman' style ¾ sleeves buy creating a bloused bodice effect. This dress buttons down the center-front with a contrasting vertical striped detail, making it a shirtwaist design. A matching belt with a square buckle wraps around to cinch the waist. The skirt has double princess seam darts on the skirt adding a small amount of fullness to the hip area. There is a short slit on the back of the skirt making it easier to walk. The silhouette of the dress slightly narrows at the hem with straight side seams, making it a ‘Sheath' dress. On the left side seam under the arm past the hip there is a metal zipper, a very common placement and type of closure for the time this dress was made. This dress is fully lined in a shiny cream. I'm obsessed with this dress!! Vintage but still modern in its design!! Perfect to transition from the office to a night out!!
Good Condition: Woven textured fabric has frays in some areas but NO holes.
