Stylish design bow-tie cat brooch by Marie-Christine Pavone. The bow-tie cat is made by hand in 2 layers. The handsome face is made of a streaky silvery gray galalith, bow-tie is a fashionable orange. Brooch measures 3 inch wide till the tip of the ears and 2 inch high. Galalith is 3/16 inch thick for the face, 1/8 inch for the bow-tie. Signed by hand at the back. New condition.

Galalith is the most used material in the creation of Pavone jewelry. Galalith is made from the casein of milk hence its name, "gala" (milk) and lithos (stone). Discovered at the end of the 19th century, it is the ancestor of plastics. The work of galalith is similar to woodworking for cutting and sanding but also requires different impregnating and polishing phases to give it a shiny and deep iridescent silky appearance. Galalith has the immense possibilities of being colored in an infinite palette of bright or soft hues, light or dark. Each item is entirely handmade and requires up to three weeks of work for its realization. The magic Marie-Christine puts into her galalith items, the buy liveliness it brings is her trademark, they cannot be mistaken.
