Cork is an amazing eco friendly product extracted from the evergreen cork oak trees (Quercus Suber) that grow in Mediterranean countries, especially in Portugal. When a cork oak reaches 25 years old, a 2.5 cm thick layer of cork bark is extracted without damaging the tree or its ecosystem. After sterilisation, cork bark is pressed flat into thin sheets buy that are then laminated onto a textile backing support.

Cork is light, durable, water-resistant, wear-resistant, recyclable and biodegradable; has a lovely soft smooth texture and an amazing rustic look.

The famous Harris Tweed is a beautiful and intricate cloth made from pure virgin wool, dyed, spun and handwoven by the skilled and experienced islanders at their homes in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Harris tweed is the only fabric in the world governed by its own Act of Parliament.

A Harris Tweed label has been sewn on the front of the bag, which authenticates the fabric as genuine from the Scottish isle of Harris.
