Vintage 1950s Necklace Signed CORO Clear Crystal Rhinestones for Bride or Prom Amazing Construction from DecadencePast.
Most of the signed and collectible Coro necklaces I've seen from this era and in the vining, "Navarre" style have been colored rather than clear rhinestones... so I think this piece works particularly well for a bride or someone who is looking for a clear, crystalline beauty.
The design has silver tone settings of rhinestone studded flowers, twining stems and leaves. The piece is a jewel encrusted, three dimensional design using marquise and chaton rhinestones.
The artistry and craftsmanship of this necklace is above most Coro pieces. Coro used heavier casting in the early 50's. The necklace size is adjustable up to 17" with a J-hook closure. Unlike some of the other pieces of this era, this necklace also features cast set and then prong set rhinestones all the way around to the clasp buy.
CONDITION: Previously owned, excellent with no metal wear, but some of the stones are slightly brighter than others. The center of the main focal flower also appears raised to me when I look from the side, indicating it could possibly have been regaled (I tried to remove it with my fingers but it is soundly set). All stones are present and clasp works fine.
SIZE: Necklace adjusts up to 17" with graduated 1" x 5" for the focal area
