Screech owl box, Saw-Whet Owls nest box is stylish and will serve a great purpose for a vineyard, strawberry fields, vegetable garden, etc. Made from cedar fence board, so all wood will vary between knots and grain and color. Decorative front is made from old weathered fencing (this may change). The front of owl house detaches for easy cleaning of nest by removing 4 screws from the top front panel. Box is left raw and natural, we recommend to varnish each year for extra (exterior only) protection. Roof is painted Colonial Red or CHOOSE YOUR COLOR from the chart on last photo.

Screech Owls and Saw-whet Owls have tough competition with other birds for natural cavities because they are so small. They eat night-flying insects, mice, squirrels, lizards and may occasionally snag other small birds. You may want to position this birdhouse away from the houses of other birds. These cute little 7 inch owls can become quite tame.

Placement: Mount the nesting box 15 to 30 feet above the ground south-facing spot. It can be bracketed to a tree trunk or on a telescoping pole equipped with a predator guard. Note: For better results in attracting the loved screech owl, mount on a tall post or pole so to search and keep an eye out for rodents. Place wood shavings in box to encourage nesting.
