This small stone buy genuine scarab multi color STERLING SILVER necklace is a rare find. Exclusively offered on Designer Scarabs.
The scarabs measure 8mm x 6mm (5/16" x 1/4").

Pink.................Rhodonite
Pink and green.......Unakite/Epidote

*These genuine stones are Silicon Dioxide and are commonly found in petrified wood and in the outer bands of geodes.

Rhodonite is Manganese Metasilicate and gets its name from the Greek for rose.

The length of this necklace is 18" and it has an easy to "put on" buckle-style clasp. The necklace can be lengthened or shortened. Contact us to inquire about adjustments.

The scarab beetle was sacred to the ancient Egyptians. Any one of any importance had a coat of arms or signet, which was used in business transactions instead of signatures. They would engrave them onto a piece of genuine stone that was carved in the shape of a beetle.

Scarab jewelry became popular in the 1950's-60's, mainly in the form of bracelets and watchbands. The materials used were clay, porcelain, glass, plastic and minerals of the earth, AKA as genuine stones. It was the genuine stone ones that were most popular, valued and sought after. They were set in plated brass, gold-filled, sterling silver and gold.

Since the 1960's, scarab jewelry has re-surfaced in popularity.
