This is a cool lamp base from the period of the 1930s when Art Deco styles buy were evolving into Hollywood Regency. The cast metal base creates a pedestal for the male and female minstrels, bards, or entertainers. Highly expressive and almost circus-like in its appearance. This is wired, and the wiring appears to be in good condition, and like all vintage lighting it is recommended that you re-wire this to ensure compliance with contemporary codes. The color is mostly green with a touch of teal, and it's somewhat chippy so it shows a bit of brown metal underneath. The socket is standard and will accept regular light bulbs, and there is no corrosion or residue in the socket. The pull chain turns the lamp on and off properly. The lamp measures about 9 1/4" tall to the top of the socket, and it is about 7 3/4" wide and 4 1/2" deep. The lamp stands securely and without wiggle or wobble. You can see that the hole at the back for the power cord is rough, and there is another small crack nearby (please see photo 9). It weighs about 2 1/4 pounds so it has some heft, and the last photo shows that it works. The light bulb is NOT included, it is in the photos only to show the lamp is in working condition. There is no shade. In fair to good condition. Unusual, unique, and pretty cool find.
