Product code: 1873 Peru Lima 9 Decimos 900 Silver un Sol Coin pendant on heavy buy sterling silver chain necklace

A 900 silver Peruvian 1 Sol coin minted in 1872 is centered on this heavy duty sterling silver bezel pendant setting. This 25 gram antique silver coin features a seated female figure with shield, staff and words, "Firme y Feliz Por La Union, Libertad, Un Sol (1 sol - currency)".

The reverse side depicts the Peru Coat of arms and lettering "Republica Peruana Lima 9 Decimos Fino Y.J, 1872 (date)" The coin was minted with 900 silver (slightly lower purity of sterling or 925) and measures approx. 37mm in diameter. It is a real coin that was drilled and filled (super common). A thick 3.7mm bezel holds the coin tightly below a large sturdy bail. The setting tested as sterling silver (no hallmark).

The pendant hangs from a heavy thick 3mm rope chain. It stretches 24 inches long and closes with a lobster clasp marked,"925, Italy".

This pairing is in very good vintage to antique condition with expected surface wear, as photographed. There are surface scratches, fill marks, patina, irregularity to "P" on reverse side, etc. to coin. Please check out all photos and see below for detailed measurements and weights.

Each vintage piece has been examined by a graduate gemologist. Stone carat weights stated represent approximate weights which can vary by the limitations of measuring set gems. Due to the age, antique & vintage jewelry and sterling objects are often not perfect, and may have normal signs of surface wear, or small imperfections due to hand crafting or production in a long gone era rather than mass-manufactured nature. This is what makes each piece special and unique!
