Spalted ash handcrafted carving mallet. buy I personally split the log, turned the mallet, shaped, sanded and finished through all steps. This particular mallet weighs ~15 ounces and is ~11 inches long. The head is ~3 inches in diameter and ~5 inches long.

The mallet has been sealed with several coats of boiled linseed oil and beeswax for a hand rubbed satin finish. Please zoom pictures for better detail.

The mallet is one that you will be able to use for a lifetime and is perfect for cutting dovetails and tenons, leather work, or for fine detailed carving.

Very attractively grained with spalting and tiger striping.
