Handmade metal-ware pendant light. This light is constructed from recycled lamp parts that have been cut , trimmed and shaped into an Industrial Style pendant light. The finish is a lustrous dark copper patina and is quite beautiful as an ambient light source.
It comes with a matching ceiling plate and and is supplied with up to 20" of cloth covered electrical wire. The length is adjustable!
The style is a modern, up-cycled homage to the 1920's industrial style. The original maker of this fixture is the late, Karl Barry Lasowitz (1938-2021), an Artist and Brooklyn native known for his Arts and Crafts style stained-glass lamps, which were extremely popular in the 1980's and 90's. With the help and talent of Maria Hidalgo, he was able to own and buy operate the successful and sought after business for nearly four decades! The the last store front closed in 2002 as he grappled with aging and addiction. He packed up and moved to Staten island in the 2000's, which is where he began to develop this more industrial style of metalware.
