8vo in full morocco with elaborate gilt decorations: a beautiful pastoral border design (including songbirds and a troubadour lutenist) surrounding a bouquet of flowers on both boards and a woman watering vines on the spine beneath the title and another floral motif, all in gilt. 252 pp.; frontispiece plus five plates. VG+. Very light wear to the leather. The gilt decorations remain clean and bright. The binding is strong. Original gift inscription in a fine hand on the ffep dated Christmas, 1852. Light foxing to the front matter and the plates with some offsetting.
