This tool is not an awl like the others.
It is not only aesthetically high quality with its handles made of precious woods or hybrid materials, but also in material and workmanship of very high quality.
The Ahleisen are called swords, that is, they pierce the leather and leave a diamond shape in it, which allows the two needles (and their threads) to easily pass and close the leather.
The base button and clamp are made of polished buy titanium, a material that does not rust and has antibacterial properties.
The high-performance cobalt steel irons, which require almost no maintenance, arrive with impeccable cut and polished, pay attention to the fingers! No further sharpening and polishing is required.
The swords are not only 4-fold, but even 6-fold ground. The tip of the Ahleisen thus balances itself in the middle of the Chisel markings.

The handle has a flattening that allows you to always take the awl in the same way and thus have a uniform cutting angle.
The awl is designed so that the iron can be changed with a screw (T5/6 Torx screwdriver for the iron). However, this is not necessary in principle.
With a second screw at the base, you can align your sword as you like (T15 Torx screwdriver).

Usage tips:
The material used for the Ahleisen makes it enormously effective, but also fragile!
It can be broken off with great effort when turning and can also break when falling down. When used as intended, however, nothing happens to the iron and it also retains its cut sharpness.
Each sword setting is precisely matched to the sword, so that it does not wobble even under heavy use. The irons cannot "pull out" because they are secured in front of it with a notch mechanism.
Since this whole system has to mesh exactly, it is not possible, for example, to install a 2 mm iron in a 3 mm socket and vice versa. Each pot needs its lid.
