Dating to the late 1890s or so, may I offer this sweet pin/brooch. Designed as a lucky horseshoe, the pin features yellow gold filled leaves with a rose gold shield at the top. The horseshoe itself is made of a silver colored metal. Simple c-catch at the back to hold the pinstem in place. Size is 1-3/16" high x 1-1/16". Weight is a heavy 7.6 grams. A very well made bit of antique costume jewelry!
