RARE SIGNED RAF SWEETHEART BROOCH
A wonderfully detailed WWII enameled silver RAF wings sweetheart/tie pin brooch, featuring the Kings crown . Measures approx.40mm, (1.5/8"), and is marked to the reverse "STERLING ENGLAND", alongside the makers mark of world renowned Birmingham silversmith Thomas L. Mott; best known for his butterfly wing jewelry. Fastens with a hinged pin and open 'c' clasp, and is in excellent cleaned condition with a little loss of the enamel and minimal signs of wear commensurate with age. Although most of the maker's mark is hidden under the clasp; (all that's visible is the L M) I am confident that it is a Thomas L. Mott original pin.
Needs a little cleaning. We do not disturb our buy silver items as our clients prefer to purchase our items as we find them.
