Product code: Beautiful Vintage Toffee Tin, c 1800 Courting Couple at Harpsichord, Pretty Lady & Soldier, Metallic Gold Details, Nice buy Example

Nice vintage condition on this beautiful and hard-to-find toffee tin from Thorne's. A circa 1800 couple sits at the harpsichord, she in a white dress with pink details, and he in his military uniform. The harpsichord and some other details are a metallic gold, visible in the right light. Some Art Deco stylized flowers decorate around the blue base. A lovely keepsake box buy. Circa 1930s-1940s, I think. Made in England. Lid lifts off. About 6 5/8” by 6 1/8” by 2.25” tall.

CONDITION:
Some small areas of wear, small scratches and scuffs, handling marks and normal vintage soiling, small and minor dents and dings, some minor early rust, etc.
•Lid art in nice shape, some wear at corners and edges, and some tiny wear in blue drapes stands out a bit.
•Some small scratches on base stand out a bit.
•Some discolored lines and residue on upper base from sealing strip, not terribly noticeable with lid on.
•Light-ish wear and patina inside, but looks like crayons may have been stored inside, with some light crayon transfer here and there, and in the crevice as well. Some minor early rust.
•Cluster of long, fine scratches on bottom and small reverse crease dent.
•Opens/closes fine with some coaxing. Fits better in one direction.

The tin is empty.

No longer for food use. Any props not included.

Colors can vary across devices, so the colors and brightness should be considered an approximation.
