From pristine rainforest of Hawaii, harvested from private acreage, grown in rich volcanic soil.

The lemon guava is very adaptable and can be grown outdoors throughout much of Florida and California. It will fruit in a container almost anywhere if protected from hard freezes. Trees grow well in full sun and with ample water, although short periods of drought will not harm the plant. Lots of water is needed during fruit development and for proper ripening to occur.


The ripe lemon guava fruit is yellow. However, when the fruit is developing it is green. Fruit is ready to pick when completely yellow or nearly completely yellow. The fruit should also easily detach from the tree with a light pull when it is ready.

Upon receiving the package, open immediately and put the plant in a shallow bucket of water at room temperature for 3-4 hours to ease the stress of shipping. Once they have a nice drink, prepare buy their soil, add rooting powder and get it into a pot or the ground asap.


*A new plant may take some time to leaf out and settle into its new home, so be patient. Don't write it off after a few days — give it a couple of weeks.*
