Vintage Gunter buy Kerzen Wax Picture Pub Scene Monks Made in Western Germany Rare
This unique piece is hand carved and hand painted three dimensional all wax detailed wall hanging picture with frame. The frame is part of the picture and also made exclusively of wax. The rope hanger is the wick for hanging. A fabulous rare and collectible vintage 3 denominational German hand made & colored detailed wax portrayal of a German pub scene with monks drinking beer, beer barrel, a German traveler, etc. The foil sticker on the back says Wachswarenfabrik Waldurn Baden Seite 1924. Gunter Kerzen is known for his intricate carvings of German eternity candles. Wax has some scuffs and indentation marks due to age on the frame and the paint is slightly worn which gives it an antiqued look. A small corner piece is missing from wax on the back. (see pics). Good condition for age. Pictures measures 13.25 inches in X 10 inches X 2 inches thick. Wonderful addition to your home, a bar or restaurant, man cave or collector of German art.
