The Peregrine is a revered bird world-wide, and holds the speed record for its stunning dives. I've had the great pleasure of monitoring a local peregrine falcon nest the past few years, and watching these birds has been a fascinating experience: the pair-bonding, hunts, aerial transfer of prey, feeding the young, fledging, driving off intruders (human or otherwise), oh the list goes on. Many people worked hard on the recovery of peregrines in the US, and the falcons have made an exciting comeback.
