~ salt glazed crock with great color
~ and turkey dripping as you can see
~ early salt glazed pieces were made by throwing rock salt into the kiln when it was at its hottest; the rock salt would build up in the kiln & eventually drip onto the pieces creating turkey drippings/droppings
~ about 7 3/4" tall, 8 3/4" outer rim diameter, 5 5/8" base diameter
~ very good condition with no chips or cracks
~ surface manufacturing imperfections as expected in 1800s stoneware with variations in the color & finish
~ also specifically note the irregularities in the finish surface
