1930s blouse, pussybow blouse, sheer black blouse, tulle blouse, sheer black shirt, 1940s buy blouse

Presenting: A graceful vintage floral embroidered tulle sheer black blouse with pussy bow collar.

-Dates from 1930s to early 1940s.
-No brand labels or tags present.
-Made entirely of sheer black tulle & satin black ribbons.
-Not sure of the tulle's fiber content. Likely, rayon or silk tulle.

Key Design Elements/Features:

-Majority of blouse consists of thin strips of satin black ribbon aligned vertically and sewn to the tulle base in evenly spaced stripe formation.
-Front, top half consists of a segment of double layered tulle over each side of the bust.
-Hand done multicolored floral embroidery within these two segments.
- Various colored leaf and vine motifs using regular embroidery floss.
-Ribbon embroidery technique used for 3-D Puff flowers w/ matte, gauzy ribbon-like material in muted, soft shades of red, blue and yellow.
-Pussy bow collar via tying ends of thick black, satin ribbon along neckline.
-Small “keyhole” opening in neckline due to thinner black vertically & center oriented ribbons splitting into “V-neck “under bow.
-Short Butterfly aka Flutter sleeves are attached via a raglan sleeve construction.


Condition Rating: VERY GOOD/EXCELLENT

-Phenomenal condition considering it's nearly “antique” age.
-Two old repairs in the tulle on the top of the right sleeve, near edge. Appear as a short curved line and tiny circle made from stitching.
-Visible but not very noticeable, especially when worn.
-Some loose threads here and there, mostly consisting of short loose ends of the embroidered threads. Nothing significant at all.
-Color of matte, ribbon-like material used for the yellow flowers appear slightly greyed & faded.
-No holes in the tulle.
