Southwest Turquoise Cross Sterling Pendant Necklace Vintage Petit Point

ITEM: A sweet little cross pendant with a bonus with purchase, sterling chain to put it on. The cross is in the Zuni style of design known as ‘Petit Point' a style created by the Zuni Pueblo. The cross is unsigned or at least, I've buy not yet found a mark of any sort. The metals test as sterling and the turquoise has a gorgeous blue throughout, that is to say that there's no veining or inclusions seen by eye, they're a solid turquoise blue hue. Set into classic dogtooth or sawtooth bezels, each sits in a cup like formation. The cross has a center starburst type of design that adds a little something extra to this otherwise simple cross pendant. The bonus chain is marked sterling Italy I believe. A sweet little piece, in a well known style of design that's set with very nice turquoise stones and comes ready to wear with that bonus chain! Sweet as can be.

SIZE: The pendant measures a little over 1” wide and is 1 1/2” tall including the fixed (permanent) bail. The chain is 20” long with a spring ring clasp.

CONDITION: In very good to excellent vintage condition showing minimal wear apparent. The stones are intact with no cracks or chips noted. There are a total of 6 cabs. The pendant is In farm fresh, just picked and honest surface, there's a good deal of patina on the cross. I can polish it up for you if you prefer your silver a brighter, newer look. It's totally up to your own preference, there's no right or wrong. I just tend to leave patina in place so that if preferred, it's available because once I polish it - it'll take another 30-40 years to build it back up again! lol. The chain is also vintage. It's marked sterling Italy and is a simple cable chain. I've cleaned and polished this chain within the last couple months for sanitary and aesthetic purposes. No kinks or breaks noted and clasp is intact and functional. This is a great example of type and style that is almost certainly Zuni made. As an unsigned piece however, I can't say for absolute certainty.
