This is a one of a kind hand-made and hand decorated bowl glazed in a melange of cafe-o-lait and brown colors. After the initial firing I used the wax-resist method to paint abstract doodles on its inner side. Since the wax-resist doesn't allow the glaze to sip into the painted areas, when fired they retain the natural color of the clay body and contrast with the beige of the main glaze.
This is a functional piece. It is glazed with the traditional ash based Unofu glaze that doesn't contain any harmful materials and is food safe. You can use it as a medium size salad bowl or as a serving bowl. The piece is high-temperature fired and is very sturdy yet light. Dish-washer and microwave safe.
