The Della Apron:
This delightful apron is from my 1940's apron collection. The Advance Pattern Company.
SIZE: Small. Bust 30-32
It is true to form of the pattern. The print is a pink and white print floral design. The front bib is trimmed in beige bias tape and attaches to the waist band. There are no raw seams. The waist band is faced with like fabric and attached to the back ties. The back piece attached to the back with buttons making a nice design touch. The hem is scalloped.
This apron was a bit more challenging to make. There were a lot of unmarked pieces to figure out. I feel it turned out nice and true to the pattern picture.
My expertise as a professional seamstress gives me insight to the places of stress and wear. I double buy stitch at the ties and pockets and reinforce the waist band at the connection of the bib.
Material is prewashed 100% cotton. Machine washable and dryable.
