This womens scarf is a handmade nuno felted scarf. I made it by firstly dying the silk using tea leaves in a simple shade of tan. Then I layered fine merino wool over and under the silk to create a design. After adding hot soapy water and a lot of agitation, I cajole the silk fibers and the wool fibers to merge until they become one cohesive fabric. The final product marries the delicacy of a silk scarf with buy the softness and warmth of a wool scarf.

I've designed the scarf on both sides so it is reversible. On one side, I've added silver angelina fibers for added sparkle. There are many ways to wear this scarf. Drape it long, or wrap it around your shoulders as a shawl. My favourite way to wear this scarf is to position the circle on my chest wear I want it to lie, and then wrap the tail around twice and feed it though the opening. This helps to keep the scarf in place.

Measurements: Length: 66" (168cm) Width at Circle: 10" or 25cm

Care for your nuno felted scarf: Gently hand wash in mild soapy water. Rinse well. Squeeze dry. Hang or lie flat to dry. Gently reshape as needed.
