My paintings are inspired by my buy surrounding Devon countryside and its beautiful villages. I paint by instinct and feel my way to deliver a balance of color and space influenced by my love of early 20th Century art such as expressionism, post-impressionism and the Fauve movement.

It is an original signed acrylic painting on canvas board. The board is double mounted with a 10"x 8" picture aperture. It is in a white painted wooden frame (17"x 15") under glass ready to hang. The frame is made locally in the neighbouring county of Cornwall.

I am lucky to live in beautiful Devon with my wife, six children and assortment of animals. This is the place to paint amid the glorious country and seaside. My studio in the back of the shed is a long way from Chelsea School of Art, London, where I studied but it does the trick. We live in a fantastic small village where Sir Walter Raleigh was baptized and just close to where he was born and grew up. The River Otter runs between us and the hills beyond providing a beautiful and inspiring view.
