This is a nicely bound volume of "PETERSON'S MAGAZINE" containing 12 issues (January to December) for the year 1877. The volume is richly illustrated with beautifully detailed full-page engravings, women's fashion, embroidery/crochet patterns (some in color), and illustrated advertisements. Bound in three-quarter leather with gilt lettering and four raised bands on the spine. Contents include both fiction and non-fiction pieces, music, poetry, articles on fashion, etc. The contents for the 1st half of the year ("Volume 71" January - June) appear at the front, and the contents for the 2nd half of the year ("Volume 72" July - December) appear at the center.

Condition:
Shelf wear along the edges of the boards and the corners; there are a couple small, dark stains on the spine; some rubbing of the marbled paper over the covers; bright gilt lettering and decorations on the spine. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. There are some paper tears along the gutter between two front blank end papers. Consistent light foxing to the pages with occasional stains. The January - June issues contain only 3 of the 7 color patterns; the July - December issues contain 4 of the 7 color patterns. There is an inscription written in pen on the front end paper. Overall the volume is in Good- condition. buy
