Product code: Large Nelson McCoy Lavender Butterfly Jardiniere Planter 6.5"H x 7.75"Diam - 1940s Butterfly Line buy - Flower Succulent Cactus Pot - Lilac Pink

Dimensions:
6.5"Height x 7.75"Diameter

This stunning large jardiniere is from the very popular 'Butterfly Line' made in the early 1940's. The bottom is marked "NM USA" buy. It features a botanical/leaves butterfly pattern in a soft lavender/pink color with a semi-gloss/matte glaze.
Note on glaze color: Based on our research and general knowledge of McCoy pottery, we believe this to be the 'Lavender' color, albeit a very light-colored version of lavender. Please remember all computer/device screens tend to distort colors. Message us with any questions.

This harder-to-find pot is in vintage condition with crazing, chips along the bottom rim (as shown in photos) and a few small cracks (top rim & on a side - as shown in last 2 photos).

Note: There are several common production "McFlaws" on this pot (glazed over chunks/nicks & ceramic/glaze pops) common to early McCoy pottery. We will only specifically note the McFlaws if they are a major flaw to the design or functionality of the piece.

McCoy pottery was produced in the United States in the early 20th century. It is probably the most collected pottery in the nation, known for their utilitarian stoneware, art pottery and decorative pieces. Starting in 1848 by J.W. McCoy Stoneware company, they established the Nelson McCoy Sanitary Stoneware Company in 1910. They continued on almost into 1991, but had to close down due to declining profits.
