Large, substantial, vintage, Norwegian silver sterling brooch/pin, with white enamel and gilded filigree.

Marks: 925 S, makers mark (we believe it belonged to Ivar T. Holth, but since it is hard to read, we are not absolutely sure), STERLING NORWAY

Diameter: 42 mm/ ca 1.65 inch.
Weight: 21,6 grams

The filigree is tarnished, and some buy color has spread to the enamel under the filigree part. We have given the brooch a gentle clean with a soft brush. A jeweler can possibly remove the tarnish, but in our opinion it looks fine as it is. Otherwise in very good condition and there are no damage to the enamel. Closure in good working order.

A beautiful Norwegian enamel piece, with some resemblance to the traditional Norwegian "sølje" (solje) (silver jewelry used with folk costumes).
