Large heavy buy 5kg antique French stoneware water jug / handthrown wine jug, oil jar / vintage rustic farmhouse pottery

A beautiful piece of antique French stoneware from the very early 1900s, maybe late 1800s, sourced in the Haute-Vienne.

Handthrown, large and very heavy, this lovely jug made for oil, wine or water was thrown on a potter's wheel, making it unique with distinctive character through its blemishes and imperfections, some from when it was made, others through its use.

The double-handed jug is glazed with a distinctive range of light, mid and reddy brown tones and has no cracks or faults, just use and age-related nicks and spills which would make this lovely large jug a stunning addition inside or outside the home.
