Also included on the piece are two sides of a vintage matchbook from Renton, Washington, featuring Rubattino's Restaurant and the Owl Room with stylish graphics. The painting was created by first glueing the matchcovers securely to the wood. Next the wood was primed and painted. Stephen Jon Powers' art has appeared in various folk art books, in newspapers, gallery shows, and museum shows. His first published drawing was when he was four years old.
