Vintage Oriental Crawling Baby Statue/Chinese buy Baby Statuette/Pingyang Princess/Door Stopper/Crackle Finish/8”

This is a porcelain statue of a crawling Chinese girl child with a red mark on her forehead. The baby is dressed in a plum colored jacket accented with ancient Chinese character medallions and orange pants. The hair is arranged in an old traditional Chinese style. Crackle finish. Adorable!

The story goes that when Pingyang Princess (600-623 Sui buy Dynasty) was sleeping as a baby in the garden, a Plum Tree overhead leaked juice onto her forehead leaving a red mark.

Measures approximately 5-1/2”T x 8”W x 9”L. Circa 1970's.
