Rörstrand Sweden Pitcher "Korall" Series, 1970s Vintage Jug, Design By Olle Alberius, Brown buy Stylized Decor, Excellent Condition

**Welcome to Yesterdrops Vintage!**

This is a lovely 1970s ceramic pitcher/jug from Rörstrand Sweden, the pattern series is called "Korall" and was designed by Olle Alberius. The series was in production for a short time between 1968 to 1972 and features a white body with a brown stylized pattern that gives associations to sea creatures and corals. Underneath is the Rörstrand stamp and the name of the pattern.

The condition is excellent, there are no chips, cracks or repairs, only a few "beauty marks" from production can be found. There are a couple of tiny dark streaks and a green little splotch on the handle (see pictures) and there is a little sub-glaze "wart" on the inside of the pitcher. Otherwise only very light wear is apparent, the pattern is intact with only minuscule scratches.

Rörstrand was founded in the castle of Rörstrand in Stockholm, Sweden in 1726, (this makes it the second oldest ceramic factory in Europe). Through the times many highly acclaimed artists have worked as designers for the porcelain factory, Marianne Westman, Gunnar Nylund, Carl-Harry Stålhane, Inger Persson and Bertil Vallien are but a few, and they have created some truly iconic designs over the years.
