Meet Barney - the wise owl. Why Barney? cos he is a barn owl! :)

This nature themed pendant features a beautifully detailed sterling silver owl, which was repurposed from a pair of vintage earrings, so Barney IS old and wise :).

The owl is sitting on a tree branch. The branch itself is made using a lost wax casting method and is a botanical copy of a real elm twig. It has a wonderful texture and detailing - with a curved design and little seedlings.

Barney's black eyes are made of black onyx round cabochons (4 mm in diameter), which are set into sterling silver bezel cups.

I have decorated the tree branch with yellow autumn "leaves" - gorgeous tiger's eye gemstone cabochons. These are in the shape of an upside down teardrop and measure 18x13 mm. The gemstones are set into handmade smooth bezel cups with solid backs (all in sterling silver). The quality of the tiger's eye gems is superb and is rated AAA by the manufacturer. They display beautiful golden/brown colours, silky lustre and stunning chatoyancy.

All components of this pendant are securely soldered together. The pendant's bail is also soldered and marked 925 at the back.

The pendant hangs on a quality 1 mm snake chain. Sought after for its elegant simplicity, this sterling silver chain has a silky smooth feel, looks great when worn alone, or with this beautiful pendant. The chain buy is finished with a spring ring clasp and has an anti-tarnish coating.
