Product code: Raw honey gift box in a rustic wooden crate | Luxury honey gift in a upcycled wooden buy box | Honey + honeycomb + propolis + pollen + candles

This honey gift box is a real treat for the eyes, the nose, taste-buds and the immune system! Why are Lithuanian bee products so special? In Lithuania, you will most commonly find polifloral honey, which means that it is foraged by bees from a variety of wild and some cultivated plants - often a combination of meadow and forest plants. The variety of botanical sources means a more complex honey in terms of nutrients, sugars and of course - flavour!

*In the gift box you will find:
1) 2 raw polifloral honey jars (700g each). At this time of the year, honey has already crystallized. While some prefer liquid honey, solid honey is actually proof of it being raw, i.e. not heated as well as not ultra-filtered. Why is that important you ask? By heating honey all the good stuff would be lost. Each season's honey has a distinct flavour, texture and colour, truly representing the land it comes from. The diversity of flavours comes from the variety of plants:
- Lightest, off-white in colour and still somewhat creamy and smooth in appearance and texture even when crystalized is spring honey. Aromatic, slightly lactic and somewhat floral in smell. Mild in flavour, slightly acidic and medium sweet, with a hint of cooked fruit. Dominant characteristics typical to rapeseed and dandelion.
- Light amber in colour with large non-homogenous crystals in appearance and texture is summer honey. Strong dry straw and chemical aroma with a hint of menthol. Persistent, intense, floral in the taste, with a hint of green apple. Dominant characteristics typical of lime tree, phacelia and wildflowers.
-Dark amber in colour with medium sized homogenous crystals in appearance and texture is autumn honey. Intense, somewhat resinous,, animal-like aroma. Taste of dried fruit, slightly metallic, with a hint of cooked chickpea. Dominant characteristics typical of heather, buckwheat and fir/spruce honeydews.
2) Bee pollen jar (90g). Pollen is the primary source of protein, minerals, antioxidants and vitamins for bees. In humans, it is thought to reduce inflammation, boost energy levels and improve metabolic function. Different colours of pollen mean they come from different plants, and can range from almost black to orange, from green to purple.
3) Honey and propolis tincture mixture (280g). Propolis is a mix of resin, wax and essential oils, all digested by the bees. Inside the hive it is used not as a food source, but as a gap filler and antimicrobial agent. There are over 300 active ingredients in propolis that have highly antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. These active ingredients are most bioavailable when consumed in a form of tincture - infused in alcohol. There is 5% per volume of such tincture in our honey and propolis mix. When taken internally propolis has been traditionally used for digestion issues, mouth ulcers or the common cold.
4) Cut honeycomb in a jar of honey (250g).
5) 2 round pure beeswax candles 'the embrace of sun and moon'
6) Pure beeswax mini face vase/planter

*Packaging
The gift set comes in a handmade wooden crate-style box (without lid), made from upcycled old pallets by ourselves. Once opened buy, the room will be filled with aroma of dry hay, transporting you to our apiary in the meadow. Each box is also individually decorated with dried wild plants we forage for throughout the year. Lithuanian meadows and forests in a box!

The beautiful wooden box can be used for storing books, vegetables, wine bottles, or a rustic solution for a mess free windowsill herb garden. It can also serve as a cosy bed for a small cat.

PLEASE NOTE. IF YOU OR THE PERSON YOU ARE GIFTING THE BOX FOR IS ALLERGIC TO HAY/HAS HAYFEVER, PLEASE LET US KNOW AND WE CAN PACK USING ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS.

Honey comes in small jars with metal lids that can be reused. Our labels are printed on recycled paper and tied around the lid with a jute string.
The wax seal with a bee gets stamped on the exact same string, and then painted golden by hand. The entire process - from design to execution is done by ourselves. Handmade from start to finish.

Our gift boxes make a wonderful gift for someone who appreciates natural and healthy products - check out Of honey, wax and woods store for more ideas and inspiration.
