This is a wonderful two quart salt glaze wax seal crock. Circa late 1800's. Made from gray clay; see bottom. Probably made in Southeastern Pennsylvania. A gray glaze on the outside and dark brown glaze inside. Inside you can see and feel the rings and grooves that were left by the potter's fingers while he/she turned this crock on the potter's wheel. Condition: Very good. A solid piece of early utilitarian stoneware. No chips or cracks. Firing imperfections as expected with a piece of stoneware that was made during the late 1800's
