1940s PR.ST. Co. 12ktgf Amethyst Glass Link Bracelet in Original Box buy Gold Filled Providence Stock Co.
1940's PR.ST. Co. 12ktgf Faceted Amethyst Glass Link Bracelet in original box. There is a gold label that says GOLD FILLED. It's actually 12 kt gold filled. The bracelet has yellow gold and rose gold bows in between the amethyst prong set glass squares and measures 7" with a fold over clasp. Original price tag on bottom of box. Excellent condition.
Providence Stock Company first buy listed in the Providence directories in 1890. The last listing was found in 1950. An advertisement of 1904 says "Our Specialties are: in gold filled, vest, Dickens, Pony, Fob, Waldemar, duke of Marlborough, Lorgnette, Muff, Purse and Neck Chains, Ptd., Marguerite Extending Bracelets, and Chain Bracelets; in 10 k solid gold, Lockets, Brooches, Scarf Pins, Pendants and buttons, and in sterling silver, Chain Bracelets, Ptd., Friendship Hearts, and small novelties. I find their jewelry to be of top quality and holds up well over the years.
I love this era of jewelry. It mimics the 1920s designs. This bracelet made in the 1920's would have been referred to as a Slave Bracelet.
