These beautiful vintage beads are cut from the center of a conch (a large tropical seashell). Historically, these shell beads would be traded from the Bay of Bengal, up into the Himalayan mountains where shells were considered precious. Conch also have buy religious importance in Buddhism and Hinduism. These beads were hand carved into round like shapes, making each bead unique.
