Bubinga is a delightful and lustrous wood coveted, among other woodworkers, such as guitar makers. It is known for its color and shimmer. Its curly configuration provides the illusion of 3D depth. Along with its complement, Cherry, as it buy ages it becomes an even more illustrious red. Although lovely now, with time the color of the Bubinga and Cherry will become outstanding. As with many exotic woods I have used, I have framed the Bubinga with a less busy wood, Cherry. The Bubinga tree grows to a height of 150 feet and can become six feet in diameter. It flourishes in such African countries as Cameroon, Zaire and Congo. This decorative box is certain to become a conversation piece wherever it is displayed.
