Hummel Goebel 'Apple Tree Boy and Girl' Bookends

This delightful pair of Hummel figurines Apple Tree Boy and its counterpart, Apple Tree Girl were modeled in 1940 by Arthur Möller.

Apple Tree Girl is HUM 141 1/0, the version of the figurine that does not have a bird in the treetop. Apple Tree Boy is HUM 142 1/0, the version of the figurine that does not have a bird perched on a tree branch.

The figurines are crafted in porcelain and hand painted with careful attention to details. Both figurines measure 4" tall. They are marked with a pressed in "M. I. Hummel" facsimile signature (her personal stamp of approval) incised on the back of each base. The undersides are marked with TMK-3 Small Stylized Bee and made in W, Germany. TMK-3 pieces were in production from 1960 to 1972.

The pair is in Very Good condition, no chips, cracks, repairs. Apple Tree Boy has a few crazing lines but it is contained on the bottom of the base. Apple Tree Girl has crazing throughout. Combined weight before packaging is 5 oz. Sans original box. Will ship boxed via USPS First Class Mail.
