This is a bonsai pot in a deep oval shape with gently sloping sides, it is finished with an outer rim at the top edge giving a wide rim to display the colour of the glaze to good effect. It is fully handmade, shaped and finished.
The glaze on this pot is made following a traditional recipe mostly composed of wood ash and coloured blue. This gives lots of small variations with speckles and flecks in the surface. It has a matte finish and is translucent so where the glaze is thicker the blue is very deep dark tone, and lighter on the rim, giving wonderful variation across the pot.
The pot has been fired to a buy high temperature to ensure it will be fully frost proof. It has plenty of well sized drainage holes and a selection of smaller wiring holes. The pot is individually numbered.
