This stole has very dramatic images of jungle animals in very nontraditional colors. The fabric is batik, which means that the design was buy formed using a wax-and-dye process rather than conventional printing or silk screening. It also means that the images are somewhat uneven, and that the colors are deep and varied.
The background is very dark gray (black in places) and the animals are shown in shades of tan, olive green, and gray-blue. Most prominent on this stole is the face of the lion. Parts of a gorilla, a zebra, and an elephant are also visible.
The reverse is another batik fabric, this one with a swirling design of tan, olive green, and gray-blue.
Brown fringe compliments both fabrics.
This clergy stole measures about 48" from the back of the neck to the bottom of the fringe and is approximately 4" wide. The neck is curved and slightly narrowed so that it fits neatly.
All my stoles are carefully tailored with firm interfacing (the same kind found in expensive jackets and coats) so that they hang straight and hold their shape. They are fully reversible -- with no tags or labels to get in the way.
