Product code: ULTRA RARE Herend porcelain demitasse cup and saucer Eton design 1960s or 70s 24 karat buy gold detail

THIS LISTING IS FOR ONE DEMITASSE CUP AND SAUCER (Other pieces from this near-antique Herend service are listed separately!!)

There are 6 older, very similar demitasse cup & saucer sets in the HER34 version of this pattern available and listed separately. Please message me for potential discount on orders of multiple sets (due to savings on my shipping costs).

Lovely, collectible, near-antique demitasse cup and saucer. Flawless. Hand-detailed with 24 karat gold.

Each cup and saucer is hand-painted, so the design varies very slightly from piece to piece (see photos for example.) This demitasse cup and saucer include the Eton camelia or peony flower, as well as a darker outline in the hand-painted decorations.

Listing a collection of 70 year old Herend porcelain dishware, tea and coffee sets, and table service. Please be patient with me, and come back often, as it will take me days to list everything! This set is from the 1950s, during the Hungarian communist era. The quality from this era is very high (had to keep that hard currency coming in!), but the pieces are generally rarer. This set is an extremely rare coffee/tea/dessert service of the HER34 pattern, a "milles fleurs"-type design in all-over posies of apple blossoms, with gilt trim, on a white porcelain body with basketweave accents.

The Herend marks from this era include the ID numbers of the various artisans: in this set, primarily artisan #59.

Pattern HER34 is a variant on the more common, equally lovely, Eton pattern, which, in addition to the scattered apple blossoms, features a camelia or peony flower. As I mention in the relevant listings, my set contains a few (two cups/saucers, and buy two plates, in HER34, plus this demitasse cup and saucer, in Eton with the camelia flower), bought later on, to replace broken pieces from the original collection.

All Herend porcelain is handmade and fully hand-painted, free-hand, with no stenciling or transfer. The fine lines are drawn on with an extremely fine-tipped sort of pen/brush. You can find videos of the Herend hand-manufacture and hand-painting process, on line.
