Antique English transferware cake stand. Violet and green transferware. F. Primavesi and Sons Cardiff buy and Swansea.

Beautiful large cake stand with a very uncommon polychrome decor. It was manufactured for Welsh retailer F. Primavesi and sons who had all of their ironstone pieces stamped with their own back stamp. The makers of Primavesi's wares were rarely acknowledged, however, it seems that this piece does have a makers mark stamp under Primavesi's mark.

CONDITION : Good no chips, cracks or discolorations. There are some scratches on the green line around the top rim and some little purple spots on the white surface where the color slipped in the firing process
