Soft and Warm Electric Throws December 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These throws are large, soft and very nice. We have three at our home and because our house is large we try to keep the furnaces on 66. So we just turn on our throws and be cozy, to watch TV or use the computer. One of my daughters was here for the holidays and her feet are always cold so she put my throw across the bottom of the bed and her feet were warm all night. The controls are big and easy for anyone to read. VERY NICE. They use very little electricity.
Third time is a charm... December 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
In the past decade, I have purchased 2 previous Sunbeam heated throws, only to have them die on me before the end of every winter, usually by making quick buzzing sounds that made me feel like I was going to become human bacon if I used it much longer. They weren't even very warm without having to use another throw on top of them to keep the heat in.
It is a medical necessity for me to sleep on my back, and the only way I can stay on my back and sleep thru the night is for me to sleep in a recliner. So using full sized bedding is pretty much out of the question. After years of frustration, I was given this Sunbeam Microplush throw last week, for Christmas. It's super soft, its colors go well with my furniture and boy, oh boy does this puppy heat up well, especially without anything else on top of it to keep the warmth in! The the highest setting is too hot for me--something I've never before experienced with this kind of item. And now there is a 2 year warranty, instead of one. After I experienced the happiness of a good & thorough warmth at night for the first time in years, I found a leaflet inside the box that explains about a class action lawsuit currently being initiated because of the problems with the older throws. Duh!
So far it looks like Sunbeam has taken care of all the problems that I had with my previous two heated throws, and along with the increased warranty my old ones had, they are extending my warranty on this new throw for an additional two years if I can prove I bought it! That's easy enough! And I believe there is the possibility of a cheque or to also.
All in all, everyone is happy with this throw! I'm staying warm, and my lapdogs are both jockeying for the best spot on my lap!
Great purchase December 16, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this heated throw for my elderly dad who gets cold very easily. He also is very forgetful. So the combination of a heated blanket plus the fact that it won't be left on by mistake is just what he needed. He tells me all the time about how much he likes it. The fabric also does not shed lint like the one I own and use all the time.
great warm weather throw November 16, 2008 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Very plush and warm. Feels great to cuddle in an stay warm. Easy to use and can be washed gently. Worth the price for thick throw with minimal feel of heating wires.
